[ Bookings ]
A crane or a hoist gets shared across trades on the same project, and without a shared booking record the only way to avoid two trades needing it at once is someone remembering to ask around. Bookings puts a real time slot on the calendar instead, against the exact equipment already assigned to the project.
Bookings only ever books against equipment already on your Plant & Equipment register and assigned to that project — never a separate resource list to type out again.
Pick the equipment, what it's for, and a start and end time. Optionally note which subcontractor it's for.
Two bookings for the same equipment with overlapping times can't both be saved — enforced at the database level, not a check that can lose a race between two people booking at once.
One list, soonest first, so it's clear what's already spoken for before anyone assumes a piece of equipment is free.
A booking says who reserved the slot — the operator log says who was actually behind the controls, signed out and signed back in against that booking.
This is site logistics, not a compliance document — it sits under Team & Delivery, not Safety & Compliance. Its only real guarantee is the one that matters for coordination: the database itself, not just the UI, refuses to save two overlapping bookings for the same equipment.
Not yet — bookings are created by the Principal Contractor in this first version. Letting a subcontractor request their own slot is a planned follow-up, not something the current version does.
Whichever save reaches the database second is rejected outright, with the conflict caught at the database level — not a check-then-save race that could let both through.
No — Bookings only covers when equipment is in use. Its registration/inspection currency lives on the Plant & Equipment register, and an actual walk-through inspection is a separate module.
No — a booking just reserves a time slot for whoever it's for. The operator log, against that same booking, records who actually signed out and back in with the equipment, a separate step.
Bookings comes bundled with Plant & Equipment tracking — Growth and above. See Pricing for the full comparison.
